About the Job

Then the position of unit manager for the secretariat and digitization might be for you! In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead an engaged team that works together for a safe and legally secure municipal administration.
The administration has conducted a review of the organization during the autumn, where the unit for the secretariat and digitization will, from the turn of the year, be one of three units in a larger department. In addition to this unit, the units for customer and dialogue, as well as finance, HR, and communication are included. You will report to the department head and be part of the department's management team where we together drive the development of the entire department's area, focusing on contributing to the administration's overall goal fulfillment.
As a unit manager, you are responsible for the unit's overall work within the secretariat function, information security, data protection (GDPR), and the administration's digitization efforts. The unit currently consists of four employees with different specialist competencies, where you together provide professional support to the entire administration.
The role also includes the assignment of committee secretary, where you play a central role in the political case management – from preparation to finished protocol. In the role of committee secretary, you collaborate and have a close dialogue with the administrative director and administrative controller.
Your main tasks:
- Lead and develop the unit's staff, operations, and finances.
- Develop and ensure legally secure and efficient processes within the secretariat, information security, data protection, and digitization.
- Be responsible for governing documents including delegation orders and internal decision-making processes.
- Drive and support the administration in information management and digital development.
- Operationally responsible for committee administration.
About You
We are looking for someone with a university degree in public administration, law, political science, or another relevant field. You have experience as a committee secretary and several years of experience in qualified work in public operations, which has given you a good knowledge of case and document management. We would like you to have worked in the City of Gothenburg and have knowledge of Ciceron.
You also need to have solid knowledge of public law, where knowledge of the Administrative Procedure Act, the Local Government Act, and the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act is considered meritorious. Knowledge in information security, GDPR, and digitization issues is also seen as a plus.
You have experience in a leadership role, preferably as a unit manager, coordinator, or project manager. In your previous roles, you have driven or had a central role in change or development work.

As a leader, you are clear in goals and expectations and work with a trusting leadership style. You work in a structured manner, are communicative, and have an easy time creating good collaborations – both internally and externally. You enjoy switching between a strategic overall perspective and operational tasks.
